Driver charged over bus crash

Police have charged a bus driver after he ripped the roof off his double-decker when it hit a railway bridge in central Scotland.

The Lothian Country bus was travelling on Shotts Road in Fauldhouse, West Lothian, at about 11.15 a.m. this morning, when the incident occurred.

Police shut the route between Springhill and Leadloch Road and have now charged a 51-year-old man over the crash.

Police Scotland is to send a report of the incident to the procurator fiscal, Scotland’s public prosecutor and coroner.
