Olympian injured in bus crash

An Olympic gold medallist was among the injured when a double-decker bus struck a railway bridge in Swansea, southern Wales.

Kevin Young (b. 1966), a 400-m hurdler who still holds the world record, which he set at the 1992 games in Barcelona, Spain, tweeted that he suffered ‘broken ribs and head trauma’.

A woman is in a critical condition after the bus, which was on its way to Swansea University, crashed into the bridge on Neath Road, just before 9.40 a.m. yesterday morning.

Following the crash, police arrested a 63-year-old man on suspicion of dangerous driving.
