A London bus driver said she was ‘frightened to die’ from coronavirus and has begged the government to do more to help protect transport staff.
Lorraine, who is 63 and covers routes in south London, said she had written letters to relatives, fearful that ‘she could not say goodbye’ if she contracted Covid-19.
A total of 18 transport staff, including 12 bus workers, have so far died in the capital after contracting the virus.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan (b. 1970), said ‘everything was being done to keep workers safe’.
