Three children — hurt when a school bus hit a railway bridge in Winchester, Hampshire — suffered ‘potentially life-changing injuries’, police have said.
A further 12 pupils sustained minor injuries when the bridge tore the double-decker’s roof off in yesterday’s crash.
Parents have questioned why the bus, which had 72 youngsters aged between 11 and 16 on board, was not on its designated route.
Bus operator Stagecoach South said it was taking the circumstances of the accident ‘very seriously’.
