(Very Good)

At Bovington Camp is The Tank Museum. Founded in 1923, it contains one of the largest collections of historic armoured fighting vehicles in the world. Exhibits span the history of tank warfare from the first tank of World War I to modern fighting machines. There are also working models, simulators, two video theatres, and displays of engines, guns, medals, uniforms, and equipment.

ITINERARY NOTES

Bus Ticket
The ticket used on the day of travel was an Explorer.

Operator/Route No./Branding
The trading names of bus operators often change over time. In all instances, we use the trading name in effect at the time of travel. Similarly, route numbers and branding are also subject to change. Again, we use the route number and branding in effect at the time.

Route
When we list a town, city, etc. in FULL CAPITALS, this indicates that the full bus route starts/ends here. If we list a town, city, etc. with only an Initial Capital letter, this indicates that the full bus route starts/ends at some point before/after this.

Departure
The location of the bus stop (departure point) used at the start of the route stage.

Please Note
This is an extract of a journal written on the 31st July 1998. Details may therefore have changed by the time you read this. We advise you check relevant bus timetables, ticket availability, etc. before travelling.
