‘Vital’ bus service given lifeline

A ‘vital’ bus route in north Wales, which could see services cut from six a day to just one, has won a partial reprieve.

Llew Jones Coaches said the X19 service — which runs between Blaenau Ffestiniog in Gwynedd and Llandudno in Conwy — was losing money.

Gwynedd councillor, Glyn Daniels, was concerned that children from Blaenau attending school in Llanrwst, Conwy, may try to walk 8 km (5 mi) over the Crimea Pass.

The bus firm has agreed a deal to keep two services a day running until Christmas whilst they try to find a long-term solution to the problem.
