Bus shelter gets a makeover

A mysterious interior designer has made a village bus shelter in Gloucestershire look like a cosy sitting room.

The makeover of the council-owned shelter in Thrupp, near Stroud, has seen it furnished with pictures, ornaments, a bookshelf of poetry, and a comfortable armchair.

Mary Fisk, who spotted the bus shelter’s new look a fortnight ago, said it was the ‘strangest thing’ but ‘certainly brightened up my day’.

Brinscombe and Thrupp Parish Council said: ‘We still don’t know who did it and still haven’t decided what to do.’
