A union has described the loss of five London bus workers, who died after contracting coronavirus, as a ‘tragedy’.
Unite said their members had been doing ‘a heroic job in getting NHS [National Health Service] and care workers to their place of work’.
Regional secretary Peter Kavanagh said the union would be assisting families ‘in every possible way’.
Transport for London (TfL) said it was ‘extremely saddened’ by the deaths, while the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan (b. 1970), said he was ‘absolutely devastated’.
