Wearing face coverings will be compulsory on public transport in England from Monday 15th June, the Secretary of State for Transport has said.
Grant Shapps (b. 1968) said an expected increase in passenger numbers when a further easing of lockdown measures comes into effect means that people must take ‘every precaution’.
The ruling applies to passengers travelling on buses, coaches, trams, trains, aircraft, and ferries.
Mr Shapps added that very young children, disabled people, and those with breathing difficulties would be exempt.
