A rise in catapult and brick attacks on passing buses is becoming a ‘major issue’ in parts of Southampton, Hampshire, according to local bus firms.
There have been about 60 recorded incidents — in areas including Coxford, Millbrook, and Redbridge — in the past six months alone.
First Southampton, which operates City Red buses, temporarily withdrew its services from the Millbrook estate following the latest attack, which took place yesterday.
The bus firms, the police, and the city council have arranged a meeting to discuss the situation.
