At 9 Causeway is Horsham Museum & Art Gallery. Housed in a fascinating timber Tudor house, it has over 25 galleries with many unusual items. In the grounds there is a barn to explore and award-winning gardens to enjoy.

Goodwood House

At Waterbeach is the treasure-filled home of the Dukes of Richmond, Goodwood House. It contains collections of paintings, furniture, porcelain, tapestries, and family mementoes.

Redcap Museum
CHICHESTER
Broyle Road on the A286 is where you will find the Redcap Museum. Here you can find out about the army’s own ‘police force’, the military ‘redcaps’. This museum explores their history from the time of the Boer War (1899 – 1902) up to the present day.

At the aptly named Birdham is The Sussex Falconry Centre. It has owls, hawks, falcons, eagles and, weather permitting, birds flying.

Situated within the estate of Goodwood House is the 24-ha (60-ac) Goodwood Country Park at East Dean. This features mostly woodland areas with some open grassland and a picnic area near the car park. There are also a number of walks.

Arundel Castle is the ancestral home of the Dukes of Norfolk. It has a Norman inner gateway built by Roger de Montgomerie (1005 – 1094) and the interior has a Victorian Gothic style. There is an excellent view from the keep.

In Chapel Road you will find Worthing Museum and Art Gallery. It features local history and archaeology, toys and dolls, and costume and art collections. There is also a sculpture garden.

Pallant House

At 9 North Pallant is Pallant House. This is a restored and furnished Queen Anne town house with attractions including modern British art, 18th-century Bow porcelain, and a Victorian kitchen.

At West Dean is West Dean Gardens, 14ha (35ac) of gardens with trees and a pergola. There is also a 3-km (2-mi) circuit walk and an 18-ha (45-ac) arboretum.

At Tangmere Airfield is Tangmere Museum of Military Aviation. Opened in 1982 it has many aerospace exhibits on display such as fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.

At Singleton you will find the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum. This contains historic buildings, saved from destruction, in a beautiful downland setting. Exhibits featured include a medieval farmstead, houses, and a working water mill.

In Chichester Cathedral you can find the shrine of St Richard of Chichester (1197 – 1253), Romanesque stone carvings, paintings by John Piper (1903 – 1992), a window by Marc Chagall (1887 – 1985), and monuments by John Flaxman (1755 – 1826).

In the village of Fishbourne is the Fishbourne Roman Palace. Accidentally discovered in 1960, it contains a museum, AV theatre, and replica Roman dining room and garden.
