Bus station demolition ‘a crime’

Demolishing a Berkshire bus station in favour of a market square ‘would be a crime’, staff at a café have said.

Chris Griggs has been the manager of Bracknell Bus Station Cafeteria — all of whose staff are volunteers — for four years.

The 61-year-old said low-income families and disabled people who were unable to walk to the town centre used the facility.

Bracknell Forest Council said that demolition formed part of the next phase of the town’s remodelling.
