09 Oct 2002

This is the Southsea area of Portsmouth, Hampshire, on a sunny autumn day; here we see part of Southsea Castle, which dates from the 16th century.

Travel Details
From the Civic Centre Road stop in Southampton, we caught the route 26 bus, operated by Solent Blue Line, to Fareham. From there, we took the route 5 bus, run by First Hampshire, to our destination.

About the Destination
There is a host of displays within Southsea Castle; here you can learn all about its history and see some of the key artefacts that played a role. You can also take a stroll along the ramparts, and take in the views across the Solent, Southsea Common, and down in the courtyard below.

Purpose of Visit
We travelled here to obtain stock photos for an earlier critique — which you can see here — for the Bus World Reviews section.
