Route X7/​X7R to Salisbury

‘A cross-county service connecting two cities.’

This service runs between Southampton and Salisbury. Whilst the X7 also serves Alderbury, Whiteparish, West Wellow, and Totton, the X7R serves Alderbury, Whiteparish, Romsey, Ower, and Totton.

The X7 has been running, pretty much unchanged, since the 1980s. At that time, Salisbury Reds, which is now part of Go South Coast, was trading as Wilts & Dorset; under that name, the X7 ran, as now, Monday – Saturday, whilst the X71, now defunct, ran on Sundays. The X7R, which runs via the Hampshire town of Romsey (hence the letter ‘R’ in X7R), came later. Like the X7, the X7R runs six days a week.
