Up to 42 routes face the axe

Bus passengers in the West of England could see further cuts to public transport, with up to 42 routes facing the axe.
From April, 60% of the region’s 69 publicly subsidised services will no longer receive funding; as a result, operators will most likely withdraw them.

Up to 42 routes in the WECA could go
The West of England Combined Authority (WECA) signed off the cuts on Wednesday 18th January.
Dan Norris, Mayor of the West of England, blamed the decision on some of the councils paying ‘too small a transport levy’.
