Wimbledon Common War Memorial
London
This World War I (1914 – 1918) memorial is within a circular hedged area; at the centre of it is a stone cross — reached by a short flight of steps — on a circular platform. A number of mown paths, flanked by avenues of trees, radiate to entrance points created by gaps in the hedge. The cross is Grade II listed.
