The much-missed 187 bus ran between two Dorset towns: Bournemouth and Weymouth; it also served Poole, Lytchett Matravers, Bere Regis, Puddletown, and Dorchester.

The 187 route was a true classic; those who enjoy travelling by bus would make the trip just for the journey itself. It was not merely about getting from A to B, it was about taking a relaxing ride, and thoroughly enjoying the wonderful views, especially those from the top deck. Sadly, it has been many a long year since we were able to make that journey; in fact, now it is a challenge even getting into Dorset for a day out by bus from our base in Southampton.
