Lordsdale Greenway
29 Sep 2002
It is early autumn, and we are at Lordsdale Greenway, in the Old Shirley area of Southampton, Hampshire. Some ducks are making their way across the path to Shirley ‘Ice House’ Pond, which is just out of view.

Travel Details
We made our way to one of the bus stops along Romsey Road; this is in the Maybush area of the city. From there we caught the number 15 bus, run by Solent Blue Line, to our destination.
About the Destination
Lordsdale Greenway stretches for 3.62 km (2.25 mi) from Dale Road (in the Shirley Warren area) to Lordshill Way (Lordshill). Greenways are ribbons of open space that follow stream valleys. They form a valuable break in built-up areas, enhance the landscape, and provide a green corridor for wildlife.
Purpose of Visit
We travelled here to provide a critique — which you can see here — for the Bus World Reviews section.
