Police probe over bus abuse

Police are investigating reports of a hate crime against a male bus passenger in Greater London.

Tom West, of Harrietsham, Kent, has cerebral palsy; he is a photographer for Charlton Athletic FC.

Mr West said he was en route to the Addicks’ match against Ipswich Town on Tuesday 7th December when eight youths followed him onto a bus and verbally abused him.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said it was in the process of recovering CCTV (closed-circuit television) footage from the bus.
