Arrest after bus hits girl

Police have made an arrest after a bus in Lytchett Matravers, Dorset, hit and injured a 15-year-old girl.

Dorset Police said the bus struck the teenager in Wareham Road shortly after 16 00 (4 p.m.) yesterday afternoon.

The collision left the girl with injuries serious enough to require an air ambulance to transport her to hospital.

Police arrested a 59-year-old man from Dorchester on suspicion of a driving offence, before releasing him while inquiries continue.
