Strike holds bus passes up

25 Oct 2022

Oxfordshire County Council has blamed recent postal strikes for delays to a scheme issuing free bus passes to Ukrainian refugees.

The authority, along with local bus companies, launched the project — which supplies three-month passes to new residents — back in August.

The council said approximately 1,000 people had applied for the bus passes but about a third remains undelivered.

The authority added that it sends the passes out as soon as it receives them, but industrial action had delayed the process.
