Bus cuts ‘disgust’ leaders

14 Oct 2022

Council leaders in Gloucestershire are ‘disgusted’ at a bus firm’s decision to cut routes used by vulnerable communities.

Stagecoach said it would cancel services, which deliver some 300,000 journeys per year, in the county.

Cllr Graham Morgan said: ‘They’ve hit the most vulnerable in society by prioritising commercial routes, leaving rural communities isolated.’

Stagecoach said it had to make difficult decisions to match resources to the current level of demand.
