Mayor waters down bus cuts

Sadiq Khan has watered down controversial plans to axe numerous bus routes across the capital after a massive backlash by passengers.

Transport for London (TfL) has announced it will now only get rid of three bus routes, following a consultation that saw more than 20,000 replies.

Bus passengers across the capital have clearly shown their strength of feeling, the Mayor of London said.

TfL will, however, alter various routes to ‘ensure a continued reliable bus network in central and inner London’.
