Blaze destroys school bus

Children on their way to school in Greater London had to exit the bus they were on mid-journey when it caught fire.

Firefighters managed to put out the blaze, which left the 30-seater bus as a charred shell; there were no reports of any injuries.

The fire also damaged another six vehicles and small sections of several surrounding properties on Wilton Way, Hackney.

A spokesman for Hackney Council said the cause of the blaze, which occurred during this morning’s school run, was yet to be determined.
