This service saw a few changes through the years. For example, when the Wiltshire side of Wilts & Dorset began trading as Salisbury Reds, the operator split this route in two. Although still using just a single bus, the Salisbury – Blandford leg ran as the 184, while the Blandford – Weymouth leg ran as the 183. When Damory later began running the service, it used a single route number (X12) once again.
