Commercial Road Bus Stop

The photo, by Lee Wilkins, dates from 10 September 2020; it shows a city centre bus stop that is served by three different operators. (A Bluestar bus — on the route 4 service to the nearby town of Romsey — is further down the road.)

First Southampton, Xelabus, and Bluestar used to run services from here. Local operator First Southampton ran the route 2 service to the Millbrook area of the city; Eastleigh-based Xelabus ran the X11 to Lordshill; and local operator Bluestar ran two services: the route 7 to Lordshill and the route 18 to Millbrook.

The two Bluestar routes continue to run from here; however, Xelabus no longer serves Lordshill, and FirstBus axed all of its Southampton services less than three years after this photo.
