WestQuay Bus Stop

01 Oct 2025

In the Sussex Place district of Southampton, Hampshire, is the WestQuay shopping centre; you can see the entrance to this on the right of the photo. The stops here — only one of which is visible — are one of the busiest departure points for buses in the city.

Notes

•
The photo, by Lee Wilkins, dates from 10 September 2020.
•
A Bluestar route 9 bus has just pulled in to its stop to drop off and pick up passengers; it is on its way out of the city to Hythe and Langley. Bluestar is part of the Go South Coast network of operators.
•
Although the WestQuay stops in Portland Terrace remain a popular place to catch your bus from, it is no longer the starting point for many — if any — bus services. Albion Place Hub, built about four years after this photo, is just down the road in Castle Way, and is now the first stop that services depart from.
