Lower Brownhill Road Bus Stops

The photo, by Lee Wilkins, dates from 02 Mar 2019; it shows the two Lower Brownhill Road bus stops in Romsey Road. At the time, the only commercial service using these stops was the route 4 bus.

The bus stop on the right has been there for decades; however, the stop on the left, although having been in existence for many years now, is a much more recent addition. Before it appeared, the nearest stops for Romsey were the Green Lane (Millbrook) and Mercury Road (Lordshill) ones.

In 2025, a new bus service, running between the Bevois Valley area of Southampton and the village of Nursling, began serving these stops. This route 61 service is, like that of route 4, run by Bluestar.
