Council saves bus services

29 Sep 2022

Somerset County Council has stepped in to save bus services that a local operator was due to axe.

First West of England had announced that, from October, it would stop running the 126 from Wells to Weston-super-Mare and weekday evening services on the D2 between Bath and Frome.

The authority has now announced that it will fund the services, which a new operator, Libra Travel, will provide.

Both the 126 and D2 bus services are a ‘lifeline’ for local communities, Somerset County Council said.
