Self-driving bus trialled

The UK’s first zero-emission self-driving bus service has started a trial on public roads in Oxfordshire.

FirstBus will serve Milton Park Innovation Centre — a business, science, and technology park — in Milton, Abingdon.

Richard Holden, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Roads and Local Transport, said the project would not compromise safety.

No passengers were involved in yesterday’s trial but the service will start taking passengers from next month.
