Passengers still in hospital

25 Jan 2023

Two passengers on a double-decker bus, which overturned in icy road conditions in Somerset just over a week ago, remain in hospital.

The bus was carrying 70 workers to the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station when it flipped over on the A39, near Cannington, early on Tuesday 17th January.

A motorcyclist was also involved in the accident, Avon and Somerset Police said, but no one suffered any life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

EDF Energy, the operator of Hinkley Point C, said doctors had discharged all but two of the 26 people who went to hospital.
