Bus services face the axe

07 Feb 2023

Operators could scrap up to 15% of services, according to the Confederation of Passenger Transport, which represents bus and coach firms.

With government funding and the temporary £2 fare cap set to expire at the end of next month, the industry is calling for a long-term support plan.

The DfT (Department for Transport), the UK government department responsible for overseeing the transport system, has refused to comment on the issue.
