Hampshire Bus

Waiting at a bus stop, about to depart, is this double-decker, dressed in Hampshire Bus livery. The slogan ‘Proud to serve Hampshire since 1983’ appears on both sides of the bus; it can also be seen on the back of it.

Notes
•
The photo, by Lee Wilkins, dates from 23 Aug 2023; it shows the route 64 (Alton – Winchester) service. Despite what it says on the bus, the operator is actually Stagecoach South.
•
Formed on 1st April 1983, Hampshire Bus ran services across Andover, Basingstoke, Southampton, and Winchester; it was absorbed into the Stagecoach brand name in the early 2000s. To mark the 40th anniversary of its formation, Stagecoach South unveiled this double-decker in retro Hampshire Bus livery.

The bus is at Stop R in Alton Station; as this is the only stop here, all buses that serve the station run to and from this stop.
