Route 22 to Shirley

The photo, by Lee Wilkins, dates from 09 Oct 2003; it shows Jerrett’s Lane at its junction with Frogmore Lane; both are in the Hampshire village of Hillyfields.

The bus is a First Southampton single-decker; it is on the route 22 service to Shirley, a journey of about 2.4 km (1.5 mi).

First Southampton ceased its operations on Sunday 19th February 2023; it had, however, stopped serving Hillyfields years before this. Bluestar, part of Go South Coast, is now the local operator; its 17 service to Weston just passes through the very edge of one side of the village.
