Request Stop to the City Centre

With peeling paint and patches of rust, this bus stop pole has seen better days; there is not even a timetable in the blue holder, which seems rather low to the ground. Today, this widely used stop — no longer a request stop — has benefited from the addition of a smart, modern bus shelter with seating.

Both Southampton Citybus and Solent Blue Line ran services to the city centre from here. The number 8 (Citybus) ran on Sundays only; the 15 (Blue Line) ran Mondays to Saturdays. These days, Bluestar (which used to trade as Solent Blue Line) is the only operator serving this stop; its number 4 service runs seven days a week.
