We believe this was one of only two stops in the city that still had a Citybus sign in situ (the other was on the opposite side of the road). Southampton Citybus ceased trading in 1997, so it was a surprise to see one of their stop signs here five years later.

Both Southampton Citybus and Solent Blue Line ran services to the nearby town of Romsey from here. The number 8 (Citybus) ran on Sundays only; the 15 (Blue Line) ran Mondays to Saturdays.
