Bluestar/Unilink Temporary Bus Stop

01 Oct 2024

On the Lordshill side of Lower Brownhill Road, in amongst the bushes, is this temporary bus stop; the stop sign is that of Bluestar and Unilink.

Notes

•
The photo, by Lee Wilkins, dates from 02 Jul 2021.

At first glance, the stop sign is somewhat misleading for anyone that does not know the buses here. Although Bluestar is the local operator, there have never been any Unilink buses serving this stretch of road. (In all fairness, though, the timetable on the bus stop does show the services that do actually run from here.)
•
There is another anomaly about this stop, which is served by the Bluestar 17 (Adanac Park – Weston) bus. Although marked as ‘temporary’, there has been a bus stop here for decades; furthermore, this particular ‘temporary’ stop sign has been here for at least three years.
